Facebook re-acquisition action. Largest social networking site in the world announced the purchase of Face.com, a start up technology from Israel that makes facial recognition software.
Face.com offer API (Application Programming Interface) to a third-party developers to integrate facial recognition software to a particular application. They have released two Facebook apps, Photo Finder and Photo Tagger.
"People who use Facebook love sharing photos and memories with friends, and Face.com technology to help provide the best experience it," said Facebook spokesperson who quoted from Cnet, Tuesday (19/06/2012).
No mention is how much it cost to be incurred to make up for Face.com Facebook. Reportedly, the range in rates USD 80 million to USD 100 million.
Face.com party believes this acquisition is a good step. "By working directly with Facebook and join their team, we will have a better chance in making a wonderful product," said Gil Hirshc, CEO of Face.com.
Facebook has recently also been purchased Instagram worth USD 1 billion. Website is just getting into this stock is actively expanding it.
