Can Microsoft Surface Beat Down iPad?

Microsoft recently unveiled Surface, a tablet computer of its own. Can a tablet-based operating system Windows 8 is to overthrow the dominance of Apple iPad?

The device is released in two versions, which are based on ARM and Intel processors. There are additional accessories such as kickstand to prop up the tablet and cover that serves as an additional keyboard with multitouch trackpad function.

Surface arrival makes Microsoft now competes directly with the iPad. And also a row of factories that use the operating system Windows 8 in tablet production.

Not to mention what is the exact price of Surface. While the marketing is almost certainly the year of 2012.

"Microsoft can offer competitive prices for these specifications because they do not have to pay for licensing Windows 8 should be done by other manufacturers and this may not make their partner happy," said Carolina Milanesi, analyst at Gartner.

Quoted from the BBC, Tuesday (19/06/2012), Carolina judge Microsoft Surface is more targeting the professional market. They may be inclined head to head with iPad in the corporate sector.

"They seem to target a professional audience. So they'll head to head with Apple in the corporate sector. Price will be key," said Milanesi.
