Facebook now has stopped the "Find Friends Nearby" . This was done to respect the privacy of Facebook users.
As quoted from ABCNews, Find Friends Nearby feature allows Facebook users can find other Facebook users on the same interest or interests.
But to be able to use the feature, Facebook users can log in www.fb.com / fFN on the phone. This site will prompt the user to choose an interest in something to suit other people. For example, like in shopping centers, while this feature is enabled then the other Facebook users can see who else was in the shopping center.
Actually, according to TechCrunch site, this feature has not been officially released by Facebook. But this feature can be used and only lasted for two months probation.
Facebook then stop the Find Friends feature Nearby was made by Mark Zuckerberg after the site was acquired Glancee, a mobile application that allows users to search for close friends with similar interests. Thus, the two applications is similar to its function.
"We continue to test new features, but will not share it today," said a spokesman for Facebook.

"This is not a formal release. This is merely a temporary testing. If we've done a full test (for two feature) then this feature will be released in full, of course, only one will be released," he added.
